King's Coronation Reportedly Descends Into Chaos As Fingers Point To Harry
The coronation of King Charles III is just around the corner. More details are coming to light about the coronation, which is happening nearly eight months after he took the throne following the heartbreaking death of Queen Elizabeth II. The traditional ceremony is not necessary, but it is a special ritual for the monarch taking over rule and for the English public.
It's no secret that drama has unfolded behind the scenes of Buckingham Palace as Charles and company prepare for the May 6th celebration. With the tension between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke, and Duchess of Sussex, and the rest of the royal brood, the chaos surrounding Charles' coronation has had many pointing the finger at the estranged couple. While Harry had been reportedly in contact with his father throughout the coronation planning process, whether or not he would show up seemed to weigh heavy on the team behind the scenes.
Now, reports are surfacing regarding what is unfolding as the coronation reaches the home stretch, and all eyes are on Harry.
Harry's presence at the coronation may be the root of the chaos
King Charles III's coronation is just three weeks away, and according to reports obtained by the New York Post, chaos is unfolding behind the scenes. Like any event, the royal family has been rehearsing for the big day, but things are going far from what they had planned. The rehearsals are running far too long and jeopardizing the whole day.
"It's all very frantic, complete chaos, to be frank," a royal insider shared. "There is a plan, which is supposed to be the blueprint of how the day should operate, but things are changing daily, which is causing massive headaches." The insider added that as the event comes down to the wire, the stress builds on those working behind the scenes.Another source shared, "This is naturally a huge event and the important point is everyone is pulling in the right direction." They continued, "The King and Queen Consort want it to be perfect as does everyone involved, which is why everything is being done to make it so."
It is also assumed that many of these delays have been caused by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as they waited until the last minute to respond to their invitation.
After much delay, Harry and Meghan have made it clear where they stand with their coronation invite
Whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be invited to the coronation of King Charles III was up in the air, causing some delays in planning the event. According to Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers, organizers were feeling the stress as they waited to hear the final word from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "Spare a thought for the organizers because they are the ones who have got the planning to contend with, and it's all being delayed because of Harry and Meghan," he shared on Australian TV (via Sky News).
Now we know Harry and Megan's plan for the coronation, Harry will be at the big event, but Meghan and their two children will be absent. The royal couple made an official statement that read, "The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
Of course, Meghan is facing backlash for choosing to sit out the coronation. Many believe she is intentionally snubbing her in-laws, or that this is proof the drama between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals has not improved. However, Harry will be there to support his father on this big day.
