Why Hallmark Stars Victor Webster And Shantel VanSanten Married One Another Three Different Times
Shantel VanSanten and Victor Webster are so in love, the happily married pair tied the knot not once, but three times in less than a year. The actors were brought together by their Hallmark film "Love Blossoms," according to People: After four years of dating, Webster popped the big question on a mountaintop and gushed about "spending forever" with VanSanten. "We've done that and we've put in the work and now feel settled," he said after the February 2021 proposal.
At the time, VanSanten was ecstatic to marry her "best friend," as she referred to him. The "One Tree Hill" alum credited the success of their relationship to the "balance" they brought each other. VanSanten described herself as a "homebody" who would've never thought about chasing adrenaline. But once Webster came into the picture, his appetite for adventure started to rub off on her.
While most couples get engaged and take their time to plan a wedding before tying the knot, VanSanten and Webster were only engaged for a few months before they eloped on three separate occasions.
The special meaning behind VanSanten and Webster's first wedding date
The fact that VanSanten and Webster ended up having three weddings was no surprise to their loved ones as they had already announced plans for multiple ceremonies — one in each of their hometowns in Texas and Minnesota, and one with friends in California (per People). VanSanten credited their love for travel and adventure as the initial inspiration behind the wedding plans.
The first of their three weddings was an outdoor ceremony at Pasadena City Hall in California, via Brides. VanSanten chose August 9, 2021, as their first wedding date to honor her grandparents following the passing of her grandfather on Father's Day. It was an impulse decision "The Final Destination" star made while grieving her grandfather, whom she initially planned to have walk her down the aisle. "The idea of my grandparents being reunited and watching over our ceremony from above gave me some peace," she told the outlet. VanSanten said she felt their presence throughout the ceremony.
VanSanten and Webster learned a lesson after three weddings
Webster and VanSanten did it all over again just two months later for their second wedding in St. Helena, California. "The Wedding Veil" star announced the nuptials in an Instagram photo. "Wifey and co," he captioned the post. One month later, the actors tied the knot for the third and final time in Luverne, Minnesota where the bride was joined by elderly family members. After the lavish third ceremony, Brides shared highlights of the three looks the happy couple sported for their big days.
Nine months of being engaged and traveling the country to host three weddings — pulling off multiple destination weddings — were no easy feat. But the trio of ceremonies proved to be the perfect bonding experience for the adventurous couple. "Through all of this, the biggest lesson Victor and I have learned is the resiliency of the human spirit and our hearts," VanSanten expressed to Brides. Leave it up to two Hallmark actors to turn the fairytale love stories the network is known for into a reality.
