Who Was Whip Jones On The Bold And The Beautiful?

On "The Bold and the Beautiful," Whipple Jones III was played by bonafide soap stalwart Rick Hearst, who had previously appeared on such shows as "Days of Our Lives," "Guiding Light," "The Young and the Restless," and "General Hospital." He first popped up as Whip back in 2002, but it was only for a short time. Hearst then returned in 2009 for more hanky-panky in the fashion world. His parents were Whipple Jones Jr. and Joy Jones, and Whip III worked for Forrester Creations as a public relations guru who managed the company's promotions.

Whip was unhappy when then-CEO Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) made Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) — the husband of her daughter, Bridget Forrester (then Jennifer Finnigan) — the head of promotions. Brooke had an affair with Deacon and fell pregnant as a result. Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), the co-founder of Forrester Creations, was conducting a press conference and attempted to publicly humiliate Brooke by announcing that she was pregnant.

Because the gathered reporters insisted on knowing who the father was, Whip jumped in and claimed that he was the baby daddy. He had no idea that Brooke was pregnant by her son-in-law at the time, though. When he eventually found out, he used that information to blackmail Brooke into giving him a raise and other fancy things like a yacht and a house in exchange for keeping her secret. Whip then started to develop feelings for Brooke, but she didn't reciprocate them.

Whip continued getting pulled into Brooke's drama

Brooke attempted to go to Paris to get away from Deacon, with Whip in tow, but Deacon went after them because he had finally discovered the truth. Deacon and Whip's animosity toward each other got physical, and he knocked Whip out. Deacon and Brooke then secretly had sex. Whip eventually got back at Deacon by smashing a lamp on his head. While Deacon was out cold, Whip dragged his body onto a plane headed for Los Angeles.

In order to help Brooke avoid facing the public scandal, Whip convinced her to marry him. Subsequently, Whip tried desperately to get Brooke to love him, despite the fact that she was clearly still hung up on Deacon. As secrets have a way of doing on soap operas, Bridget accidentally overheard Deacon and Brook speaking privately through a baby monitor, including acknowledging that the child was really his.

Bridget was devastated, although she ended up being there at the Big Bear cabin when Brooke went into labor — the same place where Brooke delivered Bridget. Because Brooke was trying to change her ways, they named the baby Hope. Whip tried to calm things between Brooke and Bridget to no avail. Eventually, he gave up and agreed to have his marriage to Brooke annulled. Whip then transferred to Forrester International.

Whip and Taylor were also involved

In 2009, Stephanie moved over to rival fashion company, Jackie M. Then, she hired Whip to run their PR department. Jackie Marone (Lesley-Anne Down) was the owner of the company at the time, and Whip had her and Jackie's husband, Owen Knight (Brandon Beemer), model for a bawdy fashion line called Indulge. During a TV interview, Owen dismissed their marriage, so Jackie kissed Whip to get him back. It turned out that the man in the interview was Casper Knight (also Beemer), Owen's twin brother.

Being unlucky in love, Whip tried internet dating, where he met Taylor Hayes (then Hunter Tylo). Although Taylor was tired of having relationships with Brooke's ex-husbands, such as Ridge Forrester (then Ronn Moss), she eventually gave in to Whip's charms and the two started dating, later even tying the knot. Using his PR prowess, Whip convinced Thomas Forrester (then Adam Gregory) to participate in a publicity stunt where he kissed Brooke, his stepmother. Taylor was livid, and that was the beginning of the end of their marriage.

During one intimate moment, she also infamously called him "Ridge." Whip then set up a situation where Brooke and Thomas would be photographed in a dressing room, and the pictures got published online, causing major embarrassment. After eating some hallucinogenic berries, Taylor kept thinking Whip was Ridge and eventually admitted she was still in love with her old flame. Whip filed for divorce and hasn't been seen on the show since 2011.
