Who Is Tucker McCall On The Young And The Restless?

Trevor St. John is a name that daytime television fans are certainly very familiar with thanks to his role as Todd Manning on "One Life to Live." That, and he also has an extensive list of credits to his name that include roles in "Rosewell, New Mexico," "The Fosters," "Containment," "Youthful Daze," and more, according to IMDb. Now that he's on "The Young and the Restless," St. John says that it definitely feels like he's returned home. Speaking about his return to the soap world, he told Soap Opera Digest in an interview, "My first day couldn't have been better. Everyone, and I mean that literally, was welcoming and helpful. They've created a culture there of generosity and positivity that's really impressive and makes me feel fortunate to be there."

That said, a lot of people can't help but wonder what kind of backstory St. John's character Tucker McCall has on "The Young and the Restless," and what might be the reason behind his sudden appearance in Genoa City. Well, it turns out that the circumstances surrounding Tucker's return are indeed quite complicated.

Trevor St. John is warning fans to strap in before it's too late

For those who have been paying attention to "The Young and the Restless" over the years, they will know that Tucker McCall was actually played by current "Days of Our Lives" star Stephen Nichols, according to Soaps in Depth. Fans know him best as a businessman who has managed to romance the high-powered Jill Abbott and was also revealed to be Katherine Chancellor's long-lost son. Soap Central also noted that he was married to both Ashley Abbott and Sharon Newman and had flings with the likes of Harmony Hamilton and Diane Jenkins.

Just recently St. John told Michael Fairman TV that before he joined the cast of "The Young and the Restless," he actually didn't do his homework on the character, and that's because of a specific reason. He said, "Since Tucker has been away from Genoa City, it's safe to say he has a lot of ground to cover when it comes to re-establishing relationships, most importantly with his son, Devon. We will also see Tucker form some new alliances as well."

If that wasn't enough, he also teased that fans will have to "strap in" for all of the drama that's ahead. In other words, St. John's version of Tucker McCall will differ greatly from what we've seen with Nichols' portrayal of the character. Something tells us that he's got more than just secrets about Diane Jenkins to unload.
