Everything You Need To Become Britney Spears For Halloween This Fall

Ever since Britney Spears reinvented the schoolgirl look in her iconic 1997 music video for "...Baby One More Time," her music video, award show, and stage outfits have been a constant source of inspiration. Each Halloween you're basically guaranteed to see at least one Britney costume, whether that's someone posing with a snake or a couple delving into the world of double denim — we're looking at you, Britney and Justin at the 2001 AMAs. Her makeup and hairstyles are just as iconic too, with colorful eyeshadow and glossy lips a staple of the classic Britney look.

Since the 1990s, Britney has never been afraid to wear looks that stand out from the crowd, which is partially why so many of her looks make for good Halloween costumes. Plus, with Britney's recent release from her conservatorship, now is a better time than ever to get ready to rock your best Britney look and gather the confidence that will have you saying, "It's Britney, bi**ch" all night long.

The pop star has had iconic looks since the beginning of her career

Of course, no Halloween article would be complete without what is probably the most popular Britney Spears costume — her schoolgirl look from the "...Baby One More Time" music video. The song just happened to be her debut single, too — NBD (via Entertainment Weekly).

As outlined by Seventeen, the look's popularity may be down to the fact it's pretty simple to pull off. You only need a white button-down shirt, a black skirt, and gray thigh-high socks. Brit elevated the look with pink fluffy hair bobbles tied around the top of her iconic pigtails and pink ribbons at the ends. She was a fan of heavy lipliner and lipgloss in all of her late 1990s and Y2K looks and "...Baby One More Time" is no exception, so go heavy on the gloss for a true Brit look.

If dressing up like a schoolgirl isn't your thing, another legendary Britney look is her look at the 2001 VMAs ensemble. Performing her hit "I'm A Slave 4 U", the pop star rocked the daring combination of a green bra, tiny blue shorts, and knee-high boots. The whole look is brought to life via major embellishment on each piece, so go heavy on the costume jewelry and don't forget your (hopefully toy) snake to carry around.

She has slayed the outfit game since the late 1990s

For a more covered up yet still undeniably sexy look, Britney Spears' red latex catsuit from her "Oops...I Did It Again" music video will certainly make a striking statement this Halloween. Unless you can sew, you'll probably have to purchase a ready-made costume to achieve this look. Apart from that though, the look is easy enough to achieve — just slick back your hair and add a headset for ultimate Britney vibes.

According to Vogue, the look was created overnight for Britney by her tour stylist Michael Bush after they could not find a look spectacular enough to be her main outfit. However, as video stylist Estee Stanley noted, you'll get hot very easily in latex, so make sure to stay hydrated!

Last but definitely not least, we couldn't miss out another very well-known Britney style — her flight attendant uniform as seen in the "Toxic" music video. A sexy flight attendant is already a pretty popular Halloween costume, so make sure people can tell yours is Britney-inspired. Vogue suggests getting a regular flight attendant costume and then adding a headset and bright blue eyeshadow. If you want your costume to be closer to Brit's original fit, you might have to DIY it to get the exact cutouts. It's all in the details, so don't forget your long blonde hair either!
